“One of the better affordable hotels I’ve been to in Brisbane, traveling with three friends hostels shot up in price so we went to City Star Lodge for an affordable bed for a night. Anyu was amazing upon arrival and even let us store our backpacks before we could check in. Once we checked in we were pleasantly impressed with the cleanliness and size of the room we got (family room). Sheets were white, floor was clean, counters were spotless and even a few whiskey glasses to have a drink. We brought our beverages with us but needed some ice and there was no ice machine but Anyu found us two travels full of ice to keep our drinks cool”

“This tired Lodge has been given a lick of paint and is stunning, fresh and modern. The bedrooms are 5 star.and the car is secured down stairs at no extra cost. A credit to the staff who have taken the time to spruce the place up and they always welcome you with a smile on arrival and when you leave. Well down Management.”

“- Great location - Free parking available (our camper was too big, but there’s plenty of street parking right in front) - Everything was very clean & well maintained - Spacious, renovated & lovely room, with additional seating outside the room - Very comfortable bed/ mattress - Filtered drinking water available - Good, reliable Wi-Fi - Clean, well-kept pool (lights & palm trees create a really nice atmosphere) - Large, clean & well-equipped kitchen - Staff were extremely friendly & helpful. Thanks - Cute Christmas decorations at the front — a lovely touch, We were able to check in early due to Christmas — thank you so much We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.”

“Easy to find and get to just off main st. Easy to get to city or Southbank or Gold Coast. Secure easy parking with plenty of spaces on site but can also secure a spot on busy nights for a small fee. Plenty of pubs, cafes and restaurants close by. Small independent grocery across the road. Public Transport hub nearby. Lovely park across the road, with plenty of sports facilities and room to run around and play. The Room is clean, well organised with helpful essentials for a short term stay. Also a communal kitchen, laundry and little library/reading area. Lovely pool area and outdoor spaces. Some surprises - A vending machine with some treats but also some good quality snacks. Filtered water station with sparkling water on tap. Netflix, YouTube and prime videos on tv. Staff very helpful and polite , answered my many questions with kindness and respect. Would recommend.”

“I had a fantastic stay with my 2 kids at this motel. I called up about our early arrival time and the friendly reception lady was able to accomodate an early check in. The room was immaculately clean - beds were so comfortable with big, fluffy doonas. I also loved the kitchen facilities and tap purified water to refill drink bottles. Location is central & we could walk down to Southbank. A very comfortable and easy stay - thank you for having us!”

“What a great surprise. I was a little concerned being a motel/lodge. The staff on arrival where absolutely welcoming and explained everything in detail. My room was spotlessly clean. Yes I even checked the sheets and bathroom. Spotless. The room was located next to the pool which was an advantage. Very comfortable beds and all the bedding was in superb condition. Near new. I stayed for 5 nights late March 2026. Great they have secure parking. I saw on my third day tradesman measuring for what looked like new decking around the pool. There definitely making this place better. A huge turn around from 6 years ago according to past reviews. Everything in my room room was new and in excellent condition. Definitely returning here again. Bargain compared to the city hotels. Also a great location at Kangaroo Point. 5 out of 5. More like a 4 star hotel. Lovely well kept pool and gardens.”
